CONSIDERED TO BE DUE TO FAILURE TO MAINTAIN AND REPAIR ADEQUATELY THE CORRODING STRUCTURE. MINIMUM AMOUNT OF STEEL RENEWAL DONE BASED ON A MINIMUM OF MEASUREMENTS OF THE MAIN STRUCTURE. THUS THE HEAVY WEATHER ENCOUNTERED TRIGGERED A MAJOR STRUCTURAL COLLAPSE AND CAUSED THE VESSEL TO SINK IN SECONDS WITHOUT EVEN A MAYDAY.
