Oorzaak: Built in 1912 by cochrane & sons, selby. originally owned by pickering and halby's steam trawling co and registered in hull. hired in 1915. one boiler, triple expansion engine of 65 hp, single shaft. one 3-pdr gun, smaller gun aft. was escorting lancs & yorks railway ss nidd to calais. whilst manoeuvering to engage a surfaced enemy submarine (ub 274) ran under nidd's bows and was stuck on port side. vessel quickly sank.
